Hampton Inn Columbus/Taylorsville/Edinburgh

We stopped for the night while on our way to Mammoth Caves. We did not have a reservation but Nick at the front desk checked us in fast and friendly. The room was super clean and a free breakfast was included! There are several hotels in the same area as this one. We checked 2 others before we settled here. Save yourself the time and just come here.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed was a little more on the FIRM side but I slept well. Service was excellent, Nyah was pleasant to deal with in the morning for checking out. Free breakfast is always a plus and we will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Great people. Super friendly. We have stayed here multiple times and loved it. This time was a week stay and it was great. All the employees were sweet and accommodating. 10/10 service. Food is good. Mini pre-made omelets every morning along with a meat and usually potatoes but sometimes french toast sticks. The smores waffles were there 3/6 days and we really missed them the other days. I would give it a 4/5 for what it is (Embassy breakfast will always be my #1 sorry not sorry lol) The only thing I have to complain about is it's getting a little dated. The elevator is sketchy. The beds squeak horribly. The microwave didn't work right so they had to bring me a new one. The door to my room stuck alot so you had to force it to close. Maintenance tried to fix it but I could tell the door screw holes were stripped out from him trying to bandaid a reoccurring issue. (No fault to him. He tried his best with what he was given.) They offered a different room but we were settled in already and just needed to force it shut.

Super stay here! Very clean and bathroom was huge! Very comfortable bed and I loved the products they have for shampoo/conditioner. You are in a great location with restaurants nearby. Only an hour from Louisville, too. Breakfast was well stocked and great coffee!

Stayed 1 night in a king sized room with 2 adults and 1 child. I felt the room was very clean, bathroom area was cleaned with detail. No mold or residue in the shower area. (I always give the room a once over before unpacking). There was some patchwork yet to be sanded and painted around the ceiling sprinkler upon entry, but this did not effect our stay. Elevator was out of order, thankfully our room was on the second floor. Overall, I was very happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn out by Columbus—technically it’s Columbus/Taylorsville/Edinburgh, which is kind of a mouthful, but whatever. I was in town for a couple of days for a thing at Camp Atterbury, and this was the closest hotel that didn’t look sketchy. Pulled in around 9PM after grabbing something from a Taco Bell that had the slowest drive-thru I’ve ever seen. By the time I got there, I mostly just wanted the room to not smell weird and the bed to not sag in the middle. First thing I noticed: the lobby had that “we vacuumed recently” smell. Not bad, just very… present. Front desk guy was fine—polite, didn’t say more than he had to. Which I liked. I’m not there to make friends. Room was pretty standard. Lights all worked, which sounds like a low bar, but I’ve stayed in places where half the lamps are for show. Water pressure in the shower could’ve been better, though—it was like being gently judged by a faucet. Also, for some reason the mini fridge made a soft clicking noise every 20 minutes or so, which I started tuning out after a while, but still. There was a sign by the elevator about quiet hours that made me think, “uh-oh,” but turns out it was dead silent on my floor. Either that or the walls are thicker than I expected. The bed was firmer than I usually like, but I actually slept okay. Better than at some pricier places, to be real. Breakfast was the usual hotel buffet situation—those weird pre-formed egg disks, waffle station, yogurt in a mini fridge. Nothing great, nothing terrible. I ended up skipping it the second morning and just hitting the Dunkin’ across the street. Would I stay again? Yeah, sure. It did what I needed it to do. No drama, no weird surprises, decent sleep. Which, at this point, feels like a win.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Perfect location with the antique mall we traveled for nearby, restaurants and shopping. Staff was very friendly! We had snacks and a welcome letter in our room; a thoughtful touch. Our room was clean and spacious. The breakfast layout and options were also wonderful.
